Tomatoes & Bikinis?

What do tomatoes and bikinis have in common?

Beach Tomato! Our all-time favourite website for anything to do with the beach duhh. Their motto ‘life is better at the beach’ best describes their obsession (which we love) for all things beachy! From exotic places to visit, to the most promising sunglass designers to watch out for – if it has to do with that sandy abode – you name it, they have it.

They have recently opened up a ‘Beach Shack‘ where they stock the best beachwear designers on the planet! Could it get any better? We think not!

Friends forever (I Spy Mouillé in Croatia)

One day three beautiful friends decided to go on a trip to Croatia together. With them they brought their favourite Mouillé swimwear, summer dresses and stories.  The three friends had a wonderful time in Croatia lazing on the beaches, swimming in waterfalls, meeting new people, drinking at the local bars and most of all – laughing together…

The end!

*All swimwear in this post is Mouillé; Pieces featured: Naomi top/bottom in red, Multi-Plumes bikini top/bottom (purple/cream), Montica top/bottom in cream, Geometric bikini set (multi-colour);

M.I.A!

Hey guys! We apologise for being ‘M.I.A’ recently – we have been working really hard to create a beautiful Spring Summer ’12 collection… this has meant no posts for a few months! No worries though, we’ll be up & running with new posts shortly.

In the meantime, here is a sneak peek of what we were up to last week when we did our SS’12 collection photo-shoot…

Watch this space for more updates on this collection!

Our Weekend Wonder:

We love these Paloma Barcelo suede wedges in green-tea sorbet. They are perfect for all the long-weekend BBQs and easter-egg hunts. On that note, our other weekend wonder is…

Candy-coated mini easter eggs! Easter weekend is the perfect time to indulge. And why not? Yum.

We Love: Lavender

Dreaming of lavender fields… (La Provence no doubt)

We are a bit obsessed with pastels right now especially seashell pink, sky blue and lavender. Love love love! Here are some lavender items that will have you yearning for something in this dreamy colour.

Go luxurious with silk chiffon in shades of lavender. Think floaty, drapey, and soft. From top left: dress by Thakoon, suede flats (at asos.com), Amanda Bynes in Narciso Rodriguez, Marc Jacobs bag and pleated back mini dress by Dion Lee.

Ruffles & lavender = perfect combination. Compliment with other pastel colours like these blush rose sandals and glasses (both from Asos.com). Bikini is Mouillé (available at Yoox.com)

Rio baby!

Rio in all its beauty…

We’ve got some looks for you in the spirit of this festive and tropical place, whether you want inspiration for your next trip to Rio or just in need of ideas for an easy breezy coco-cabana look!

For the beach, go tropical with a bright colour palette. Pick a brightly coloured bikini or one piece and then mis-match with contrasting-coloured accessories. We love this bright floral print bag from Jil Sander. Flip flops & necklace from Asos.com. Bikini is Mouillé (available at Yoox.com)

Samba the night away by channeling the colour-block trend! Wear a bright asymmetric top or bodysuit with a high-waisted skirt and belt, but make sure all these items are completely separate colours that compliment each other. Pick accessories to match the colours in your outfit  like these two-toned, easy-to-dance-in shoes from Pollini (at Asos.com)  and this AH-mazing feather clutch from Matthew Williamson (at net-a-porter.com). Skirt from Asos.com. One Piece is Mouillé (available at Yoox.com)

Fancy a margarita on the beach in Rio? We do!

Nice Melons…

Again, it seems that we’re getting into the habit of our posting misleading titles but hopefully you’re used to it by now…

Whilst we are on the topic of summer being in the air, we thought we’d post a delicious, healthy and refreshing cocktail recipe (can be made into a mocktail too) perfect for sipping whilst laying out in the sun, doing chores, or even after work with friends.  Below is a recipe for ‘Watermelon Margaritas’ which we think this is the ulitmate summer time cocktail!

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups watermelon, cubed, seeds and rind removed (about 1 3- to 4-pound melon)
  • 1 cup silver Tequila
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Watermelon slices (optional), for garnish

Preparation:

Place cut watermelon in airtight container and put into freezer overnight or for roughly 10 – 12 hours. The next day, put the frozen watermelon and remaining ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. Pour into margarita glasses and garnish with a wedge of watermelon if you like. Makes 6 servings, so put on the salsa music and invite your friends over!

The Chloe One Piece in apple red (above) is the perfect swimsuit to wear whilst sipping on your margarita and listening or dancing to salsa music. Hoop earrings & flower optional.

Naomi or Chloe?

The ‘Naomi’ woman is sexy, alluring and has a more classic, time-less style.      vs.                                                                                                                                                          The ‘Chloe’ woman is flirty, quirky and has an edgy style.

So which one are you?

We Love: Romantic Hair

Nothing marks the start of spring like the appearance of floaty dresses, bright colours and you guessed it… romantic hair. We love this classic beauty trend that means you don’t have to wake up at 6 in the morning to straighten your tresses. Not sure how to achieve this look? A few cute flowers in the hair does the trick (think headband, clip ons, etc). Here is some inspiration:

Or if flowers are too much of a statement for you, try a loose, messy braid. The weirder the position of the braid – the better! Check out some of our favourite messy braids (plaits)….

Bring on spring and summer!
